Name: WraithWorshipper
Date of birth: May 22
Current Residence: USA, just southeast of the Great Lakes
Favorite TV Shows? Stargate Atlantis, G1 Transformers, Transformers Prime, Firefly, Andromeda, and I am liking Babylon 5 from what I have seen of season 1.
What inspires you to draw? Wraith, Nature, colorful lighting conditions, color wheels, and random conversations on deviantArt
What are your fave episodes of each season?
*Season 1: “Rising” There is just something special about seeing ‘gates dialed to new places for the first time. Also, the characters and settings were introduced. "Thirty-Eight Minutes" also engaged my attention, making me wonder how the problems could all be solved in such short time while also getting the backstory of how the problems came to be in the first place.
*Season 2: “Michael” As I watched the episode, I was wondering who Michael was supposed to be and kept stopping to wonder why I didn’t remember seeing him before. His origin surprised me.
*Season 3: “Common Ground” is one of the best scifi television episodes ever. When I inquired about SGA, everyone was saying I had to see “Common Ground” and they were correct!
*Season 4: “Midway” has a lot Wraith and I really like the sculptural work and concept of the stun bombs. “Tabula Rasa” was also enjoyable to see how all the clues would lead to a solution.
*Season 5: The “First Contact/The Lost Tribe” story arc has my favorite Wraith character and caused me to start to draw again.
What are your fave shippings? Anything with Wraith, both cannon and OC
What advice do you have for those other artists out there? Keep trying new art ideas and media at least a few times each (especially the free software out there), be willing to invest time in each project, and feel free to mix and match media styles in the same piece to achieve the artistic look you want. Understand yourself and stay true to what is important to you in what you create, regardless of what anyone else says.
Which is your favorite Atlantis moment? When the Daedalus doors open in “First Contact” and Todd’s delegation steps into view. The quiet Wraith on the far right is my favorite character because he reminds me of my husband. I wanted to see more of him and he didn’t get much screentime; but, like all Wraith fans and fans of other SGA guest characters, I’m thankful for each and every frame I do get.
How long have you been watching Stargate Atlantis? 2010. I had watched the original SG movie on the big screen and didn’t know SGA existed until doing a search on dA for “long white hair” and finding artwork for Todd the Wraith. Then, I found out there was a whole set of characters looking like Todd and how they were from the SGA television show. I have the series on bluray and it is the one show I love to rewatch.
How long have you been drawing? Since pre-school, but I hadn’t drawn anything in many years before seeing SGA. I got excited about really getting into digital artwork so I could paint long Wraith hair and organic hiveship interiors.
